Lourdes offers a complete line of the highest quality inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation services. UDSMR, a national Rehabilitation Service, rates Lourdes Rehab a “Top Performer,“ ranking us among the top 10% in the nation and top 5% in the region. They complemented Lourdes Rehabilitation care as being “effective, efficient, safe, timely, equitable and patient centered.” We also offer unique outpatient programs for athletes and "weekend warriors" for both pre- and post-surgery.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy works to improve or restore the mobility needed to move forward with life. Our therapists create personal therapy plans that build strength, improve balance, and maximize the patient’s ability to move safely and without pain.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps patients improve their ability to perform tasks at work and at home (such as eating, bathing, dressing, and doing hobbies). Our therapists love helping patients work towards greater independence by mastering the skills they need for daily activities.

Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy works to improve a patient’s speech, swallow, memory, reading, problem solving, and other cognitive skills. Our therapists create personalized programs to help patients of all ages gain greater control and confidence in these areas.

Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation

Some patients need more intense rehabilitation in a hospital setting, generally as a result of a major accident or injury, stroke, serious illness, joint replacement, or neurological disorder. Patients receive at least 3 hours of physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy each day.

Our 10-bed unit with all private rooms, is CARF Accredited and staffed by certified professionals with specialized training in rehabilitation. The unit is led by a Board-certified Physiatrist, Dr. Donald Dicken, a physician who specializes in Rehabilitation.

JOINT REPLACEMENT CLASSES
Having a total joint replacement (knee or hip)? Then this class is for you! Learn more about what to expect postoperatively, during and after your stay on the Surgical Unit. Learn about: Pain control, activities with physical and occupational therapists, equipment use, and preparing for a safe and functional discharge.
